YES IT’S IN THE NEWS: Firefighters on two wheels!!

YES is pleased to see fire fighters using the online YES-School Cycling Instructor Training Level 4 to improve their bicycle instructor skills for when they teach bicycle safety at schools and events. As our new “Spoke Person” Lieutenant Tressa Miller, Lane Fire Authority, Veneta, Oregon responded when I asked her about fire fighters becoming more involved with training young children the art of riding a bicycle correctly and more safely, she responded with “Heck – YES! That is how I first became interested in becoming a fire fighter because they helped me after a bad crash when I was young.” Well Lt. Miller is still young at heart and body; she just qualified for the BMX World Cup coming up next month. We wish her the best of luck and success!! Update: Tressa made it into the eighth finals, but still very pleased with her performance. ¬†She is already planning on next year BMX World Cup.
